SORCERER OF SOULS
PAINTING PROCESS
THE FINAL PIECE
Photography Tytti Lakso, editing Elli Jalvas and model Jenni Louko.
As my senior year thesis I created a piece for an international design competition called World of Wearable Arts. With this project I wanted to test my boundaries in design and making. It was a step out of my comfort zone and I am glad I did it. I let the artist in me loose to find out what I'm capable of.
My piece is called Sorcerer of souls, a sea goddes who lives from of the souls of her pray which she allures like a coral using her beautiful looks. There is so much more I could have done with this piece, it's design and making but I'm gratefull that I had the courage to enter the competition anyways. I learned so much in the process. Can't wait to enter again with something new!

The piece is made of cotton satin that I painted with acrylics, a hula hoop, some flat metal string, cotton for the structure, acetate for the lining of the dress and tulle for the hem.
